The journey of gunpowder began in ancient china when the alchemist Taoist discovered a powder that would explode with great force when brought to spark It then traveled along the silk road back to medieval europe. The technology was adopted straight away by the most powerful kingdoms to crush their rivals at the time Europe was deep into the dark ages at the time and gunpowder spelled the end of it and so began the age of Imperial Europe. Because only the richest of countries could afford the new technology so it wasnt long before Europe was controlled by only a few very powerful countries instead of many small squabaling rebel settlements

Gunpowder was discovered in China in the 9th century by Taoist monks or alchemists searching for an elixir of immortality. The discovery of gunpowder was probably the product of centuries of alchemical experimentation. Saltpetre was known to the Chinese by the mid-1st century AD and there is strong evidence of the use of saltpetre. So basically because of some crazy chinese alchemists we are able to kill eachother even quicker than we could with a sword YAY!!!!

This is my Blog and i like guns so i decided to write a blog on them for my geography class.

Guns have shaped the borders of almost every country on earth. But there have been huge changes in the design and use of firearms they have also become far more efficient and can
fire over much, much longer ranges than the first guns such as the arqubusier and the musket.
